Submissions
Submission Preparation Checklist
All submissions must meet the following requirements.
- This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
- Each author retains copyright ownership of their own paper or poster, but must sign an agreement allowing the Science Perl Committee to publish it as follow.
- This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration. However, exceptions can be made as long as legal documentation for republishing can be provided.
- Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
- All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
- All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
SPJ Authorship & AI Policies
- Our goal is to innovate, not to spend time on non-innovation work such as spelling, grammar, editing, formatting, writing code examples, etc.
- Ghost writing, guest writing, and gift writing are strictly forbidden.
- Editors & reviewers are allowed to use AI without restriction.
- Authors are allowed to use AI-generated source code without restriction.
- Authors must generate the first & last drafts of papers from their own unique content, including their written documentation and verbal presentations.
- Authors are allowed to use AI for intermediate editing only, and must disclose AI usage to the editors.
- Non-sentient AI are not allowed to be listed as co-authors.
- Authors must formally accept these policies in writing.
Extended Abstract (1 page + References)
- LaTeX, must be available via Overleaf.com
- 1 page, via provided LaTeX template
- Minimum of 1, but at least 5 references preferred
Short paper ( 2-9 pages + References)
- LaTeX, must be available via Overleaf.com
- 2-9 pages, via provided LaTeX template
- Minimum of 5, but at least 10 references preferred
Full Paper (10-36 pages + References)
- LaTeX, must be available via Overleaf.com
- 10-36 pages, via provided LaTeX template
- Minimum of 15, but at least 25 references preferred
